Chapter One

Gwynfryn House is far more than a holiday home. It is a house with a soul — a place where generations have gathered, stories have been shared, and memories have been made against one of the most breathtaking backdrops in Britain.

Originally built as a salmon lodge for Victorian gentlemen who came to fish these rivers and coastline, Gwynfryn later became a much-loved family home. That history is still alive today — photographs, newspaper cuttings and documents are displayed throughout the lounge. From the moment you walk through the door, there is a sense that Gwynfryn has lived many lives: elegant yet relaxed, grand yet welcoming.

The Gardens

Two gardens,
front and back.

At the rear, a secluded terraced garden — reached through the utility area off the kitchen or down the rear steps — with seating tucked among dry-stone walls and a couple of benches for quiet mornings. Dog-friendly, once the gate is secured.

To the front, a larger, sunny space for gatherings: a picnic bench seating up to ten and a dedicated barbecue area, with birdsong and the river close by.
